IS IT THE STATION'S PROMOTION OR YOURS? YOU WORK FOR THE STATION

I guess I am too much of a "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" kind of guy. I feel if a key talent does a promotion, is on the air talking about it and it comes through the radio station, then it's a station promotion.

I have been associated with ego-manic morning talent, that perform functions that they call "their promotions" and drive their own cars to the event, nothing on the web site, no call in's, just morning show ego-patter about it. Most recently, the morning show at a station would perform 1-2 events like this every month and some incurring television coverage, with no banner,. logo or mention of the station. I ask over and over to have the van parked outside, banner and promos and liners in all dayparts for the event. These kind of air talent, think you are taking something they do and give the station credit and they hate that. WHAT?

Question: How are these guys known? Is because they are such great citizens? NO! It' because they are on the air at your radio station. Why would their ego's be that big, they neglect the radio station and any kind of promotional venture? There is a major promotion taking place right now with a talent from a station I use to program. I sent the PD an email to congratulate them, he said "He did it on his own, it's his thing". You could feel my blood boiling.

Why are Managers and programmers letting this happen? Is anyone paying attention to anything happening outside of the radio station and on the streets of the community?
