Nine North Records Larry Pareigis Slated to Speak at #BrandsConf

Behind the Brand is a Human Voice
by Jessica Northey
"At the receiving end of a brand experience is a connected, broadcast enabled, consumer. Opening your brand, being human, and the art of listen brings about a fundamental shift, and potential re-structuring of we, as marketers bring our brands to market." - #BrandsConf
December 2, 2010, New York, NY@BrandsConf is a new event taking place at the 92Y that will explore the “Humanization of Brands” and the underlying effects this is having on business. For brands, agencies, and their clients, you will hear from creative, out-of-the-box thinkers in the tradition of Jeff Pulver’s #140Conf events. The conference will explore a range of topics from best practices to the legal issues to the natural conflict of personal and corporate branding.

I am proud to Moderate/Present a Panel Q & A with Country Music Label Executive Larry Pareigis called "Bringing A Label To Life".  Larry and I will discuss how a record label can be human and reflect the wisdom of the owner, the times and excitement of the business.  He is probably one of the most interesting people I have ever met in my life and at 6’6, he’s as tall as he is nice. Larry owns Nine North Records(@9NorthRecords) Nashville’s first virtual record label. He provides promotion and marketing services to country artists. Larry is also responsible for breaking acts like the Dixie ChicksGretchen WilsonMontgomery Gentry, Van Zant, Miranda Lambert, Buddy Jewell & many more. He is inspiring, fun-loving, intelligent, friendly and just an all around great guy!

If you are on Twitter he is also known as @NineNorthLP. He has over 30,000 followers…..why…..to quote Kidd Redd, “for one thing, he’s interesting about 10 times a day. He dedicates time to it. If you’re in the country radio, record or artist biz, @NineNorthLP is worth following. He’s inspiring, fun, enthusiastic, and joyous about his artists.

You might recognize Jeff Pulver (@JeffPulver) as one of the true pioneers of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol), Co-Founder of Vonage, a leader in the emerging TV on the Net Industry and founder of the #140conf events.

Since the birth of the real-time Internet, many businesses around the world offering products and/or services have found themselves establishing a presence on both Facebook and twitter and have been challenged with the task of having to having to have someone (or a team) represent their company and become their online and physical voice for their brands. For many companies this is something both new and challenging.

“Brands Are People Too”
After watching thousands of brands become alive on twitter, rather than just being an observer of such trends I thought the time was right to invite up to people to come forward and participate in the discussion. At @BrandsConf you will hear from creative, out-of-the-box thinkers to come forward and pitch us something relevant they would like to discuss from inside the respective worlds of the business segment they are operating in. Brands transcend business sectors and my hope is to have a variety of industries represented at our first event.
-Jeff Pulver
In the tradition of the #140Conf events, individual presentations will be 10 to 15 minutes long and panels will run 10 to 20 minutes.

The conference will explore a range of topics from best practices to the legal issues to the natural conflict of personal and corporate branding. Plus a wide range of related topics and first-hand accounts of how the humanization of branding is being applied and the impact it is happening in across the business world. The goal is to bring together a great group of Characters to both lead and contribute to the discussions.

The take-aways from this event will provide the attending delegates knowledge, perspectives and insights to the next wave of effects the real-time Internet will have on brands and business.

#BrandsConf is the twitter hashtag for the event.
"What I hope to bring together is a gathering of people with a variety of backgrounds and together explore the future of where things are going and how to best prepare the community at large to get there."
- Jeff Pulver
