JR Shumann is a community builder!

JR is all smiles
Our friend JR Shumann of KYKX Longview, TX is certainly a community builder in the highest degree. Let me turn it over to him for the what he accomplished this past weekend:

Hey Chuck!
Thanks so much for asking about my walk!
We had the walk over the weekend in Dallas…despite the bad weather…it was a huge success! We had over 600 people participate, and so far, we’ve raised almost $70,000 for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention!

(the website doesn’t reflect “day of” funds raised) http://tinyurl.com/OOTDdfw2010

I got involved with AFSP after the suicide of my little brother (he was 15) in 2003. There are “Out of the Darkness” Community Walks all over the US every year that raise millions of dollars for AFSP. I started the Dallas/Fort Worth walk 4 years ago. Our first year, we had 35 or 40 people and raised about $800. We’ve grown exponentially over the last few years – and the last two years, we’ve been the #1 fund raising walk in Texas for AFSP.

If you need more info…just holler!

Thanks again brotha!
